Focus and Scope

Bangladesh Journal of Transfusion Medicine (BJTM) is an independent, double-blind peer reviewed, Open Access and online publishing journal, which intended to provide a multidisciplinary forum for the exchange of ideas and information among professionals concerned with transfusion medicine and cellular therapy in the world. The Journal has accepted the declaration of the Budapest Open Access Initiative. BJTM authority welcomes relevant contributions from them. BJTM invites articles based on original works, short communications containing significant findings, case reports with information of scientific interest, letters to editor, editorials (usually invited), reviews, conference news and invitation, book reviews.

BJTM is published bi-annually in a year (July and December).

The Editorial Process

A manuscript will be reviewed for possible publication with the understanding that it is being submitted to the “Bangladesh Journal of Transfusion Medicine (BJTM)” alone at that point in time and has not been published anywhere, simultaneously submitted, or already accepted for publication elsewhere.

On submission, editors review all submitted manuscripts initially for suitability for formal review. Manuscripts with insufficient originality, serious scientific or technical flaws, or lack of a significant message are rejected before proceeding.

Manuscripts that are found suitable for publication in BJTM are sent to two or more expert reviewers. The reviewers should not be affiliated with the same institutions as the contributors. The comments and suggestions (acceptance/rejection/amendments to the manuscript) received from reviewers are conveyed to the corresponding author.

Manuscripts accepted for publication are copy edited for grammar, punctuation, print style, and format. Page proofs are sent to the corresponding author, who is expected to return the corrected proofs within three days. The Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision on the acceptance of all manuscripts.

Publication Frequency

The Bangladesh Journal of Transfusion Medicine (BJTM) is published twice in a year.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

This is a non-profit journal. It is the official Journal of Blood Transfusion Society of Bangladesh
